Pearl Jam at the Sydney Footy Stadium tomorrow

I can't believe it has taken me 20 years to get to see Pearl Jam. Finally it happens tomorrow. Pearl Jam, supported by Ben Harper and Liam Finn, are playing a stadium spectacular at the Sydney Football Stadium. Usually I'd avoid a stadium show, especially at the SFS (don't remind me of U2's Zoomerang gig with the abysmal sound at the at the SFS - shit was that really in 1993?), but I was able to snag a fairly decent tickets in the front section. So I should be able to squeeze myself up in to, or near, the mosh and get a good view of the old buggers.
Nice bonus having Ben Harper and Liam Finn on the bill. I'd forgotten they were supporting till I checked my ticket yesterday.

As per usual I probably snap a few pics and live blog 'em.

  1. I cant believe how disappointing the concert was.

No Black. No Better Man. Daughter. I am Alive. Yellow Ledbetter. Last Kiss. Jeremy. I am Mine.

I am so pissed off with those guys.
    What did you think?

  2. I enjoyed it. On the whole I thought it was a good Pearl Jam gig. But now that you mention what wasn't played you'd think that in a 2 hour set they could fit the dead set classics in. What they played was perfect but I was humming Better Man to myself on the way home and I did wonder why it was skipped. I noticed a good chunk of the crowd didn't know much of the new stuff too.

  3. Yeah, well I guess they're the artists, and maybe they're sick of playing all the favourites when their music is going in some other direction. Still, perhaps they were making the point a little too strongly.

Anyway glad you liked it; I was pleasantly surprised by the Finn show!

  4. Gotta love the Jam whatever they play! The unknown setlist is what sets them apart! It was nice to see 4 in a row in Philly, got to hear almost everything!
    Keep on Rocking!
